Second Nashua 420 rally peaceful, no arrests

The 420 rally that was held today in Nashua at Library Hill—held directly in response to the police overreaction to yesterdays’s rally—took place without incident. Multiple police vehicles drove by during the rally, including several marked cruisers, and one unmarked blue Chevy Impala (the driver of which amusingly used his PA system to tell us “say no to drugs”), but none stopped and bothered us. Several of the cops waved as they passed.

A traffic stop took place closeby, visible from Library Hill, and several of our videographers and other camera-carrying activists went over to scope out the situation and ensure that the police behaved appriopriately and professionally.

Approximately the same number of people showed up today as yesterday. The Free State Project’s Liberty Forum event had ended around noon, so many activists who had come from other states had gone home, but other people showed up—including Lewis L., who was arrested at yesterday’s rally, his mother, sisters, and several of his friends. At the height of the rally, perhaps two dozen locals had shown up to participate, and after talking with activists, they plan to make these rallies a regular occurrence in Nashua.
